UK outlook issued Thursday 4th June 2020 Week 1 Cool and changeable. Possibly warmer later. Friday: Much of the country has a mix of sunny spells and showers. The showers will be heavy in the north and east with more emphasis on dry conditions in Wales and the southwest. More persistent outbreaks of rain affect much of Scotland and over the mountains they fall as sleet or snow. Cool and windy. Gales are possible in the north west. Saturday: Outbreaks of rain push southwards across England and Wales. In eastern counties they are expected to be heavy. Brighter conditions follow from the north but further showery rain develops in Scotland. Cool in all regions and quite windy. Sunday: England and Wales have showers. In the south and east they could be heavy at times. Scotland and Northern Ireland have scattered showers but many places could stay dry. Cool and quite windy. Monday, Tuesday, Wednesday, Thursday: Cool conditions with scattered showers are expected early in the period. Later on more persistent outbreaks of rain possibly push into the north west. Elsewhere it becomes drier and warmer than recently. Forecast confidence is high falling to medium. Week 2 Mixed. Changeable conditions are expected but it should turn significantly warmer. Early on there is a risk of showers in the north and east. Elsewhere it will probably be drier with a reasonable amount of sunshine. Later in the period it may become very warm for a time but the risk of heavy showers in the southern half of the country increases. Forecast confidence is very low.
